Candomblé is a religion of West African origin, developed in Brazil and practiced in other countries of the Southern Cone and Mexico. The quilombo or the cimarronaje in Candomblé are elements that help communities anchor themselves in territory. Candomblé incorporates rituals that preserve Black existence.
